Vietnam Veteran and Artist John S. Bartolotta Continues His Storytelling Journey with Upcoming Thriller Fallen Oaks
New York, NY — April 1, 2026 — Author and Vietnam veteran John S. Bartolotta, a storyteller with a lifetime of remarkable experiences, is preparing to release his latest thriller, Fallen Oaks. Known for his suspenseful fiction and compelling narratives, Bartolotta continues to captivate readers with his ability to blend real-world perspectives, emotional depth, and gripping storytelling. Fallen Oaks promises to be another powerful and thought-provoking addition to his collection.
A Journey Through Life, Art, and Writing
Born in New York City into a large Italian family, Bartolotta learned the values of hard work, discipline, and family early on. His childhood working alongside his father as a meat cutter instilled a strong work ethic that would define the chapters of his life.
In 1966, Bartolotta enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, becoming a Vietnam War veteran. His experiences in the military shaped the emotional intensity and realism found in his writing. After his service, Bartolotta pursued a variety of careers, including plumbing, small business ownership, real estate, and labor relations. Each stage of his career brought new perspectives, which he later drew upon to fuel his storytelling.
Retirement led Bartolotta to a new creative outlet: art. He took up painting, sculpting, and wood carving, showcasing his work in various art exhibitions. Eventually, storytelling became his most powerful creative expression, and he began writing short stories, receiving positive feedback that encouraged him to pursue writing seriously.
This led to the publication of Fina: The Trilogy, a suspenseful fiction series filled with romance, intrigue, and unexpected twists. The series quickly gained attention, praised for its engaging narrative and unpredictable plot developments.
Introducing Fallen Oaks
Bartolotta’s latest thriller, Fallen Oaks, follows Clayton Thornwood, a former Navy SEAL who faces the most unexpected challenge of his life—a heart attack that results in a heart transplant. But after receiving his donor’s heart, Clayton begins experiencing vivid, strange visions that lead him to Fallen Oaks, Kentucky.
In the small town, Clayton uncovers a dark and disturbing truth: his organ donor, Josh Casey, was involved in a covert human trafficking network protected by powerful figures. Together with Emily, Josh’s former partner, Clayton delves deeper into the criminal operation. As their investigation exposes hidden routes and dangerous figures—including corrupt law enforcement and cartel operatives—the pair is forced into a fight for survival.
Captured and forced into the trafficking network they were investigating, Clayton and Emily must rely on their courage, military training, and the strange intuition tied to Clayton’s donor’s memories to escape. Their journey for freedom leads to a confrontation that threatens to expose the entire criminal operation, but even after the truth is revealed, danger continues to follow them.
Relocated to Tennessee under witness protection, Clayton and Emily attempt to rebuild their lives, but the remnants of the cartel are relentless. Clayton is faced with a difficult choice: leave the past behind or finish the fight Josh Casey started.
Fallen Oaks is a gripping tale of redemption, justice, and the mysterious connection between life and death. With themes of survival, courage, and the unfinished stories carried by some hearts, this novel will leave readers on the edge of their seats.
